Manchester Airport T2

To execute Manchester Airport’s bold transformation programme, construction took place in a live airport environment used by 30 million passengers annually, and next to an active airfield. Overall, works included the forecourt and baggage hall, as well as the addition of a 216-metre pier, an eight-storey carpark and a bus lounge. The terminal was increased in size by 150%.

17,100m2 conglomerate tiles
7,100m2 porcelain tiles

Commencing on site in March 2019, our team were responsible for the installation of 17,100m² of conglomerate tiles and 7,100m² of porcelain tiles over four levels of the terminal, including level 00 arrivals/baggage reclaim, level 20 departures, check in areas and security, and levels 30 and 45 which are retail and circulation areas. The scope of works also included all movement joints and mastic joints.

At the later stages of the project the breakthrough works opened the existing Terminal 2 and new extension to create a single larger terminal. The project was completed in February 2020 at the start of the covid-19 pandemic.
