Working alongside sister company Explore Manufacturing who manufactured the cladding panels, Vetter UK were responsible for the design, supply and installation of 2,000m2 of precast cladding (339 individual panels), in addition to 1,760m2 of thermal insulation and 450lm of ‘Siderise’ fire barriers.

Every project that we undertake has its own set of unique challenges and provides an opportunity to learn. Royal Exchange Block D was won, designed and manufactured throughout the height of the covid-19 global pandemic, which as well as being geometrically challenging, really sets it apart.

The curved nature of the building provided the team with significant setting out and engineering challenges, with individual panel weights varying from 300kg to 4.2t, and 25 of the panels being underslung installation involving lifts in a very tight area.
